Ingredients
  

Stew
  • 2 lbs beef chuck cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 carrots sliced
  • 3 potatoes cubed
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 2 bay leaves
  • salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Brown beef in oil and set aside.
  2. Sauté onion and garlic.
  3. Add flour and stir.
  4. Add broth and return beef.
  5. Simmer, then add vegetables.
  6. Cook until tender and serve.

For deeper flavor, simmer longer and use fresh herbs if available.
