Ingredients
  

Chocolate Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee
Cream Filling
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Ganache
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup heavy cream

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare cake pans.
  2. Mix dry ingredients, then add wet ingredients and hot coffee.
  3. Bake 30–35 minutes and cool completely.
  4. Beat butter and powdered sugar, then fold in whipped topping.
  5. Make ganache by pouring hot cream over chocolate and stirring.
  6. Assemble cake with cream filling and pour ganache on top.
  7. Refrigerate 1 hour before serving.
