Ingredients
  

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk 110°F / 45°C
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam strawberry, raspberry, or choice
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar for glaze
  • 1 tbsp milk for glaze

Method
 

  1. Combine warm milk and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, egg, vanilla, and yeast mixture to dry ingredients. Mix to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead dough 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  6. Press dough into prepared dish. Create small dimples with fingers and spoon jam into several dimples.
  7. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make glaze. Drizzle over warm focaccia before slicing.

Notes

Experiment with different jams or add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough for extra flavor.
