Ingredients
  

Halibut
  • 4 halibut fillets about 6 oz each
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.33 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking dish
  • Wire rack
  • Small whisk or spoon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking dish.
  2. Pat halibut fillets dry and place them in the baking dish.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the fish and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Mix melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  5. In another bowl combine parmesan, breadcrumbs, paprika, and parsley.
  6. Brush garlic butter over the fish.
  7. Press parmesan breadcrumb mixture on top of each fillet.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes until fish flakes easily.
  9. Optional: broil for 1–2 minutes to crisp the topping.
  10. Serve with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes

Use fresh halibut for best flavor and avoid overcooking for tender flaky fish.
