Ingredients
  

Main
  • 4-6 lbs prime rib roast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp rosemary chopped
  • 1 tbsp thyme

Equipment

  • Roasting pan
  • Meat thermometer
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method
 

  1. Bring roast to room temperature.
  2. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  3. Mix seasoning and rub over roast.
  4. Roast at high heat for 20 minutes.
  5. Lower heat to 325°F and continue roasting.
  6. Cook to desired internal temperature.
  7. Rest 20–30 minutes.
  8. Slice and serve.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer for best accuracy and let the roast rest before slicing.
