- In a bowl combine tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, celery, green onion, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Stir in half of the sliced jalapeños.
- Spread the tuna mixture on two slices of bread.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and remaining jalapeños.
- Close the sandwiches with remaining bread slices.
- Butter the outside of each slice of bread.
- Cook in a skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cheese melts.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
Add avocado slices or tomato for extra flavor and texture.
