Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Medjool dates pitted, chopped
  • 1 cup Dark chocolate chips or chunks
  • 0.5 cup Chopped nuts almonds, walnuts, or pistachios
  • 2 tbsp Shredded coconut optional
  • pinch Sea salt optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Chop the dates into small pieces.
  2. Melt chocolate in microwave or double boiler.
  3. Mix chopped dates and nuts in a bowl.
  4. Pour melted chocolate over mixture and stir.
  5. Spread mixture evenly on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle with coconut and sea salt if desired.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until set.
  8. Break into pieces and serve.

Notes

For extra crunch, toast the nuts lightly before adding. Customize with dried fruit, seeds, or white chocolate drizzle.
